New Delhi: A new controversy has erupted following the Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has filed an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding Fakhar Zamans dismissal in the match. Fakhar Zamans Small but Aggressive Contribution Left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman started aggressively against Indias fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. He scored just 15 runs but was caught by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson off a slower delivery from Hardik in the third over. Third Umpires Decision and Pakistans Displeasure Fakhar refused to accept the dismissal forcing third umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge to make the decision. After watching several replays the umpire ruled that Samson had caught the ball before it touched the ground. Fakhar Zaman was stunned as OUT flashed on the big screen. Pakistan coach Mike Hesson also appeared unhappy with the decision. Official Complaint and Ongoing Controversy After the match Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha stated in a press conference that he did not believe the catch was clean. Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema then submitted a detailed complaint to the ICC regarding the incident. A PCB official confirmed to Hindustan Times In our opinion he was not out. We demand an investigation into the matter. It is worth noting that this is not the first time the PCB has complained to the ICC. Previously after the group stage match against India the PCB demanded the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft stating that he did not respect the spirit of the game.
