Amid foul play allegations, fresh autopsy of Zubeen Garg to be conducted in Guwahati

New Delhi: A fresh autopsy of famous singer Zubeen Garg will be done in Guwahati, Assam. This decision came because there are some questions about how he died. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this during a news conference. The autopsy is planned to happen at Guwahati Medical College early on Tuesday morning. Doctors from AIIMS Guwahati will watch over it.Drowning confirmed cause of Zubeen’s deathZubeen Garg died last week in Singapore at the age of 52. He had a seizure while swimming on Lazarus Island. At first, some reports said he died in a scuba diving accident. But the death certificate from Singapore says he died from drowning. The Chief Minister explained that the death certificate is not the same as the post-mortem report. They are trying to get the post-mortem report from Singapore soon. “This is not a post-mortem report. The post-mortem report is different, and the death certificate is different. We will send the documents to CID. The Chief Secretary of the Assam Government is contacting the Singapore Ambassador to get the post-mortem report as soon as possible,” he said as quoted by news agency ANI.Final Rites Planned With Huge RespectZubeen’s funeral will be held tomorrow morning in his village, Kamarkuchi, NC, in Assam. Thousands of fans came to see him one last time when his body was kept in a glass box at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati. Zubeen’s wife, Garima, thanked all the fans for their support and love.Memorial land acquiredThe Assam government has bought 10 bighas of land to build a memorial for Zubeen Garg. This place will honour the great singer, who was loved across Assam and India. Zubeen sang songs in 40 languages and was famous for the song Ya Ali from the movie Gangster.
