Prabhas’s upcoming projects promise a busy couple of years, starting with The Raja Saab next year. Another highly anticipated film is the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, whose first installment was a massive hit, grossing over ₹1000 crore worldwide. However, news of Deepika Padukone’s exit from the sequel has left fans concerned.
Reports suggest that Deepika left the project either due to fee demands or because her role was shortened, a surprising decision given her key part in the film. With her departure, speculation is rife over who will step into her role opposite Prabhas.
Fans have suggested several names, with Anushka Shetty gaining the most attention on social media. Given her past collaborations with Prabhas in Baahubali Part 1 and Part 2—the first of which grossed ₹650 crore worldwide—her chemistry with the star is well-established. Many believe that casting her would add freshness and excitement to the sequel.
Deepika had previously exited another Prabhas film, Spirit, reportedly due to disagreements over long shooting hours, leading to controversy on social media when Tripti Dimri replaced her.
As the makers of Kalki 2898 AD have yet to officially announce the replacement, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of the actress who will share the screen with Prabhas in the sequel.
