WeVX launched 7 new incubators – Obnews

Giving a major encouragement to the emerging creative technical sector of India, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has unveiled the seven new incision centers dedicated to the startup accelerator Wavex of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to promote enterprises in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics (AVGC) and Extended Reality (XR). These centers declared on Wednesday The objective is to establish India as a global leader in the AVGC-XR industry of over $ 100 billion based on the leading incubator of the Mumbai-based Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT).

New facilities will spread to major institutions: Delhi, Jammu, Dhenkanal (Odisha), Kottayam (Kerala) and Amravati (Maharashtra) Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) campus; Indian Film and Television Institute (FTII) in Pune; And Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata. As complement of state-of-the-art setup of IICT-including 8K Red Rapter Vista Vision Camera, Dolby Atmos 4K HDR Theater, LED virtual production wall, alienware workstation, VR kit and gaming console-these center will provide advanced production, post-operations, editing and testing tools through network partnerships.

Each incubator will include 15 startups for its opening group, in which media, entertainment, AVGC and XR innovators will be preferred. The monthly fee has been fixed at Rs 8,500 plus GST, making it accessible to the initial stage enterprises. Selected startups receive overall support: Global veterans like Incubation Space, Google and Microsoft with global giants like Industry Metherapy, Government Contact (Center and State), Funding Guidance, Sales/Marketing Strategies, and Sandboxes for OTT, VFX, VR and Animation. This two -phase program ensures active nutrition and then inactive global access through Waves Bazaar – scalable development.

IICT, launched in July 2025, has launched the media tech incubator of WaveX, before which applications for 15 slots will be closed on 7 September. This expansion corresponds to the national goals of jobs in the creative economy, which is estimated to reach 10 lakhs by 2025. The ministry said, “These incubators bridge the shortcomings of innovation and prepare startups for world -class content in film, gaming and immersive media.”
