Iconic DJ Stelio Mitsos has died after suffering a huge cardiac arrest at the age of 56. The iconic DJ, known to fans as DJ Stelio, collapsed at his home earlier this month and died on September 13. Stelio's funeral was held this week at St Dimitrios Church in Australia, with plenty of fans flocking to the gathering to pay their final farewells. Mitsos' wife, Priscilla, paid tribute to him and wrote: "We shared a strong marriage full of love, full of laughter, lots of fights, good times, and hard times. But through it all we stood by each other. No matter what life threw at us, Stelios worked so hard to make me happy. He never said no, only when I asked for a cat."

The pair spent 22 years together after getting married in 2003. She added: "It was full, it was rich, it was real. I'm going to miss you more than words can say. He is all I've known and all that I've ever wanted."

She also said that Mitsos would "live on through his music" and joked, "I will now get the cat that I always wanted and name it Stelio."

The legendary Adelaide DJ spent many years performing his sets as DJ Stelio at weddings, parties, and several sold-out shows. Later on in 2022, he founded Glamour Entertainment with the intention on bringing Greek stars to perform in Adelaide.

Many fans and friends have taken to social media to pay their respects. One follower said online: "Thank you Stelio for the person you were, and all the hard work that you did for the South Australian Greek community. You are surely an icon and will be sadly missed by many."

A second also commented online: "R.I.P Stelio you were an exceptional guy and DJ. May your memory be eternal. Sincerest condolences to your wife Priscilla and your families. My heart goes out to your wife and loved ones."

A third fan similarly echoed: "R.I.P Stelio our heart goes out to the family left behind. With heavy hearts we send [our] deepest condolences. DJ Stelio was a special person that brought joy to many. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten."

His wife concluded her tribute with: "While his passing has left me completely heartbroken, I am grateful for the cherished memories we created and the life we built together."
