Lpg cylinder: A few days later, the festival of Diwali is coming and before Diwali the Yogi government has given a big gift. The Yogi Adityanath government of UP is distributing LPG gas cylinders to women for free. More than 1.75 crore women are registered under the Ujjwala scheme in Uttar Pradesh, who are going to get direct benefits of free gas cylinders.
However, on the occasion of Diwali, free gas cylinders will be given only to women who are registered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and they are not going to have a separate application for them.
What is Ujjwala scheme? (Lpg cylinder)
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 May 2016 and aims to provide clear fuel to poor and rural families, especially women. So far, more than 10 crore women have joined the Ujjwala scheme and under this scheme they are given a subsidy of ₹ 300 by the government. In simple words, LPG gas cylinders are given ₹ 300 cheaply to women associated with Ujjwala scheme by the government.
The Petroleum Ministry decided to give 25 lakh additional gas cylinders to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme during the current financial year and now the same gas cylinder will be given to women of Uttar Pradesh by Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of Diwali.
Under the Ujjwala scheme, when women take a connection of gas cylinders for the first time, they are also given a stove for free, along with this they do not need to pay gas refills.
If you are living from Uttar Pradesh and have registered your name under your Ujjwala scheme, then you will also be given the benefit of gas cylinder for free. This Diwali is going to be special for the women of Uttar Pradesh as this time sugar and other foods will be distributed in free gas cylinders as well as ration.
