October 2025 is a month with festivals, and banks will remain holidays in many states. RBI has released the bank holiday calendar for October, which includes 21 bank holidays across the country. Banks will remain closed every Sunday (5, 12, 19 and 26 October) and the second and fourth Saturday (11 and 25 October) of the month. Apart from this, banks will remain closed on October 1 due to Navratri and Durga Puja in many states including Kerala, Odisha, Tripura, Karnataka and Sikkim. On October 2, banks across the country will remain closed due to Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. Banks in Sikkim will remain closed due to Durga Puja on 3 and 4 October. Banks will remain closed in Tripura and West Bengal due to Lakshmi Puja on 6 October. Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha and Chandigarh due to Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima on 7 October. Banks will remain closed due to Karva Chauth on 10 October and Kati Bihu in Assam on 18 October. Banks will remain closed in many states due to major festivals like Diwali and Govardhan Pooja on 20, 21 and 22 October. In some states, there will be a holiday of Bhai Dooj, Lakshmi Puja and other festivals on 23 October. Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on October 27 and 28 due to Chhath Puja. Banks will remain closed in Gujarat on 31 October due to Sardar Patel Jayanti. This time can be a bit inconvenient for banking services as banks will remain closed during these holidays. Therefore, customers should already determine the necessary banking work and transactions. Although bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, digital banking services like mobile banking, internet banking, UPI and ATM will continue normally. Czech clearing and cash clearance may be delayed during the holidays, so it is better to complete the necessary transactions on time.
