Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have condemned the misconduct case against Supreme Court Chief Justice BR Gawai. He said that this is an attack on the dignity and law of the judiciary.

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and said that the attempt to attack the Chief Justice of India in the Supreme Court on Monday is unprecedented, shameful and disgusting.

This is an attack on the dignity and law rule of our judiciary. When a current Chief Justice, who has reached the highest judicial post of the country on the strength of his ability, loyalty and perseverance, is targeted like this, it gives a very distracted message.

This shows an attempt to threaten and humiliate a person who has broken social bonds to protect the Constitution.

He further said that such a foolish act shows how hatred and fanatism has prevailed in our society in the last decade. On behalf of the Indian National Congress, I strongly condemn this attack. The security of our judiciary is paramount. Justice and logic should win, not threatening.

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said that the attack on the Chief Justice of India is an attack on the dignity of our judiciary and the spirit of our Constitution. Such hatred has no place in our country and should be condemned.

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi said that the attempt to attack the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is extremely embarrassing, unfortunate and worrying. It is an attack not only on the Chief Justice of the country, but on our Constitution, the entire judicial system and the rule of law.

The Chief Justice has achieved the highest judicial position by breaking all the bonds of the society on the strength of his hard work, dedication and merit. Such an attack on him is fatal for both judiciary and democracy. It is less condemned.

Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the attack on the Chief Justice of India should be strongly condemned. This is an attack on our Constitution and is a frustrated effort by the RSS anti -constitutional RSS to challenge the top officer of the judiciary that protects this constitution.

Chief Justice Gawai has reached this point, struggling with the worst social inequalities and has achieved this position on the strength of his ability and determination. His journey and office should be celebrated, they should not be attacked.

The hatred and divisive spirit spread by the ruling regime is responsible for this incident. We strongly oppose this attack.
