South Africa's Tazmin Brits is making history books in women's cricket. The 34-year-old batter carried on her scorching form in the Women's World Cup 2025 by hammering yet another century, this time against New Zealand in Indore.
Returning to the match after a disastrous meltdown in their last game, where South Africa were dismissed for 69, Brits stood up to the challenge and played one of her best innings. Not only did her 87-ball century revive the campaign of South Africa but also she made her name in record books as the first player to ever score five WODI centuries in one calendar year.
Brits Breaks Smriti Mandhana's and Meg Lanning's Records
With this century, Brits broke Smriti Mandhana's record for the highest number of ODI hundreds in a calendar year. Mandhana had previously made four centuries each in 2024 and 2025, but Brits did one better to create a new record.
