Indian cricketer KL Rahul expressed his admiration for the Kannada hit, ' Kantara: Chapter 1 ', describing it as a film that beautifully captures the spirit and beliefs of Karnataka. The cricketer, hailing from Mangalore, watched the film recently and took to social media to share his review.
On his Instagram handle, he shared the motion title of the film and wrote, "Just watched Kantara . Blown away by the magic Rishab Shetty has created yet again. All heart and beautifully represents the people and the belief of Mangaluru ."
IPL celebration inspired by the filmThis isn't the first time KL Rahul has shown his fondness for the film. Earlier this year, during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Chinnaswamy Stadium, he celebrated his team's victory in a manner inspired by the movie. After hitting a winning six against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he drew a circle on the pitch and stomped his bat at its center, mimicking the climax scene from the 2022 'Kantara'.
Rahul explained that the gesture has a strong connection to his home ground. He said, "This is a special place for me. That celebration was from one of my favourite movies, Kantara. So, ya, just a tiny reminder that this ground, this turf, this home is where I have grown up and that this is mine."
The movie, released on October 2, has already minted over Rs 260.39 crore till Tuesday morning, according to Sacnilk.
'Kantara: Chapter 1' features Rishab Shetty in the lead role as Berme, a powerful tribal warrior and Naga Sadhu who defends his people and their sacred land. It also stars Rukmini Vasanth , Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram in key roles.
