Yes, it was once possible to rent the entire country of Liechtenstein for a day, but this unique offering is no longer available. Back in 2010, the principality of Liechtenstein ran a marketing campaign where one could rent the entire country for USD 70,000 per night, with a minimum stay of two nights. This package included accommodations for up to 900 guests, with over 500 bedrooms and bathrooms, and allowed for extensive customisation, such as personalised street signs, temporary currency, and even a wine tasting with the head of state, Prince Hans-Adam II.
As of now, the option to rent the entire country of Liechtenstein is no longer available. But that, in no way, means that Liechtenstein can no longer be on your travel wish list. So we are here to tell you WHY you need to plan a trip to Liechtenstein and when.
While the opportunity to rent the entire country of Liechtenstein for a day may have been a one-time promotional event, the principality remains a captivating destination for travellers who are more inclined towards history, culture, and natural beauty. This small but affluent nation, nestled in the heart of the Alps, offers a long list of attractions and activities that one must add to their European itinerary.
