The Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana (CM Women Employment Scheme) in Bihar has emerged as one of the state’s most impactful initiatives to support women’s self-employment. The government has already transferred ₹10,000 each to 1.21 crore women beneficiaries, but millions of women are still waiting for the next round of payments.
As per the official schedule, the fourth installment of the scheme is expected to be credited on October 17, 2025. Let’s take a look at the full payment timeline, eligibility updates, and what comes next under this ambitious women empowerment program.
Over 1.21 Crore Women Have Received Funds So Far
The Bihar government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, launched this initiative to promote self-reliance among women by helping them start small-scale businesses. So far, over 1.21 crore women have received the first three installments of ₹10,000 each, directly into their bank accounts.
According to government data, the first installment was released on September 26, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred funds to 75 lakh beneficiaries. The second installment followed on October 3, credited to 25 lakh women through a virtual event attended by CM Nitish Kumar.
The third phase of payments was made on October 6, benefiting 21 lakh women across the state. Now, all eyes are on the fourth installment, which is scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025.
Fourth Installment to Be Released on October 17
The next phase of disbursement will begin on October 17, when another batch of eligible women will receive ₹10,000 directly into their accounts. While the government has not officially announced how many women will receive the payment in this round, approximately 19 lakh registered beneficiaries are still waiting for their funds.
Officials have confirmed that the government aims to cover all pending beneficiaries by December 2025, ensuring that every registered woman receives her entitled assistance.
Payments to Continue Every Friday Till December
As per the schedule shared by the Bihar Women and Child Development Department, the disbursements will continue every Friday from October 17 to December 26, 2025.
This phased approach allows the government to efficiently manage fund transfers and ensure that all applications are verified before payment.
Beneficiaries are advised to keep their bank accounts active, KYC updated, and mobile numbers linked to their accounts to avoid delays in receiving payments.
How the Scheme Works: ₹10,000 Now, ₹2 Lakh Later
Under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana, each eligible woman receives an initial grant of ₹10,000 to start a small business or self-employment activity such as tailoring, dairy, grocery, or handicrafts.
Once the beneficiary successfully runs her enterprise for at least six months, she becomes eligible to apply for additional financial support of up to ₹2 lakh to expand her business.
This performance-based assistance is designed to ensure that women not only start but also sustain and grow their ventures over time.
For example, women who received their first installment in September 2025 will be able to apply for the ₹2 lakh top-up assistance by March 2026, provided their business reports show positive progress.
1.4 Crore Women Linked to the Program
So far, the scheme has attracted over 1.4 crore registrations from across Bihar, reflecting its growing popularity and impact. The government’s goal is to provide financial independence and entrepreneurship opportunities to women from rural and urban areas alike.
Out of these, 1.21 crore women have already received the first round of payments, while nearly 19 lakh women are expected to be covered in upcoming phases.
Empowering Women Through Economic Freedom
The CM Mahila Rozgar Yojana not only provides financial aid but also aims to empower women economically and socially. With every installment, thousands of women are starting their own ventures — from tailoring and food stalls to dairy farming and local retail shops.
The state government plans to monitor progress closely to ensure transparency and effective utilization of funds.
