1. Vitamin D works like a hormone: Dr. Saurabh Seth tells in his video, vitamin D Just doesn't work like vitamins. Rather it works like a hormone in the body. According to him, Vitamin D controls more than 200 genes and apart from strengthening the bones, it affects many important functions of the body.
2. Sunshine is the best source of Vitamin D: Dr. Seth says that the best source of Vitamin D is sunlight. We can get as much Vitamin D from things like milk, salmon fish and mushrooms with just 15 minutes of sunlight.
3. Vitamin D deficiency cannot be detected: According to Dr. Seth, Vitamin D deficiency cannot be detected quickly. Its symptoms are such that they are common, such as fatigue, weakness and dizziness.
4. Too much Vitamin D is harmful: Saurabh Seth explains that having too much Vitamin D in the body can be harmful. For this, some people take supplements which should not be taken excessively. Adults need 600-800 IU daily.
5. Vitamin D is found less in foods: Dr. Seth explains that Vitamin D is found in very few foods. Therefore supplements or sunlight are its best sources.
