New Delhi/PunjabPunjab will become a “no-powercut” state by next year. On Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched the “Roshan Punjab” project with CM Bhagwant Mann. Laying the foundation stone of the state-of-the-art power transmission and distribution network in Jalandhar to be built at a cost of Rs 5 thousand crore, Arvind Kejriwal said that the AAP government is improving the power system in Punjab. Now the dream of getting 24 hours electricity is going to be fulfilled in Punjab also. 25 thousand kilometers of new cables will be laid in the entire state, 8 thousand new transformers will be installed, 77 new sub-stations will be built and 200 sub-stations will be overhauled. After this, the entire power system will be completely modern, which will be controlled on a single button from the control room. In the next 1 year, 24 hours free electricity will be available throughout Punjab. Earlier, we have shown the country by providing 24 hours free electricity in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal said that apart from the Aam Aadmi Party government, there is not a single state in the entire country which has even dreamed of providing 24-hour uninterrupted electricity to its citizens. Even this was beyond his imagination that electricity could be given free to the general public. In a different way, the Aam Aadmi Party government first demonstrated by providing 24 hours electricity in Delhi and now it is working on providing 24 hours electricity in Punjab also. Within four months of forming the government, AAP made electricity free for the people of Punjab. Today 90 percent of Punjabis get free electricity. Every family is getting 600 units of free electricity in 2 months. Earlier, the farmers of Punjab used to stay awake between 1-4 am in the night to irrigate, because the farmers got electricity only at midnight. But now farmers get electricity for 8 hours a day. The AAP government is providing the fourth cheapest electricity to the industry in the country.

Arvind Kejriwal has now started work on providing 24-hour electricity to the people of Punjab. The benefit of free electricity is available only when electricity is available. Now Punjab will soon start getting 24 hours electricity. A project worth Rs 5 thousand crore has been prepared to provide 24 hours electricity. Work on this was going on for the last one year. There is no shortage of electricity in Punjab, but the electricity transmission and distribution network is completely dilapidated. There has been no work on the electricity transmission and distribution network for the last 75 years.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the wires are rotten, transformers are burning. Due to increase in population the load on the transformer has increased. Many transformers are burning every day. Many transformers and wires will have to be replaced. 25 thousand kilometers of new cable will be laid. I don’t think that Congress and Akali Dal people would have laid 25 thousand cables even in 25 years. But the Aam Aadmi Party government is going to lay 25 thousand kilometers of new cables in the next one year. The government will install 8,000 new transformers. Apart from this, 77 new substations will be built and 200 substations will be overhauled.

Power infrastructure will be upgraded on a very large scale. After this the entire power system will become modern. SCADA system is being adopted. Monitoring will be done from the control room. Now there will be no need to go to the field. We are confident that there will be no power cuts in Punjab next summer. The dream of providing 24-hour electricity to Punjab will be completely fulfilled.
Arvind Kejriwal praised AAP MLA from Ludhiana West Sanjeev Arora, saying he had promised to fix the hanging wires. After becoming the Electricity Minister in the Punjab Government, he started the work of repairing hanging wires all over Punjab. The work that the Aam Aadmi Party government is doing in Punjab is historic. The rest of the state governments are not even thinking that such things can happen.
“AAP” MP gave jobs in his university to the dependents of 35 out of 60 people who lost their lives in the flood – Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said that about 3,500 schools, 1,500 mohalla clinics, crops, houses and animals were washed away in the floods in Punjab. He said that such a flood had never occurred in the history of Punjab. About 60 people died. Aam Aadmi Party MP Dr. Ashok Mittal had announced that one child each from the families of the deceased will be given a job in his lovely professional university. So far 35 people have accepted this offer. This is not a one-time donation, but a recurring expense. It is said in Geeta that God gives wealth as a trustee, for the welfare of the society. Dr. Ashok Mittal made it a reality. I am proud of such people in Aam Aadmi Party.
Kejriwal’s visionary thinking forced all parties to change their election manifesto – Bhagwant Mann
During this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the visionary thinking of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has forced traditional political parties to change their election manifestos. Due to his efforts, issues of education, health and electricity have become the center point of the political agenda of the parties. Before this, no political party had ever given priority to these important areas. He said that electricity is the lifeline of the economy. Therefore, the state government has taken many important initiatives for the expansion of this sector. It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the combined efforts of the State Government are providing uninterrupted power supply to domestic, industrial and agricultural sectors. Due to the huge efforts of the government, the supply of coal from the Pachhwara coal mine, which was closed since 2015, has resumed, due to which the state now has surplus coal.

The Chief Minister said that the country’s assets are being sold to friends of the Central Government at throwaway prices, while on the other hand, Punjab has created history by purchasing the Goindwal Power Plant from a private company, GVK Power. For the first time, this reverse trend has started that a government has bought a private power plant, whereas earlier governments used to sell their properties to their favorites at throwaway prices. The state government has named this power plant after the third Sikh Guru Sri Guru Amardas Ji. People have got great financial relief from this plant.
He said that with these reforms in the power sector, Punjab has emerged as a beacon for the country. During the misadministration of Congress and Akali-BJP, no steps were taken in the power sector of the state. The AAP government has taken many important initiatives in the power sector after assuming power. The new reforms will further strengthen the power sector in the state. He said that unemployment is the root of many social problems, due to which the state government is focusing on eliminating this problem. Therefore our government has given more than 55,000 government jobs to the youth. Jobs have been given to the youth in a transparent manner on the basis of complete merit.
Bhagwant Mann said that the drug mafia was given protection by the previous governments, but his government has started a war against drugs. A proper plan has been made to eliminate the drug problem from the state and now an all-out war against drugs has started. He clearly said that the state government is committed to eradicating every kind of darkness from Punjab and illuminating it, for which no stone will be left unturned. The state government has established Schools of Eminence across the state to provide quality education to the students.
The Chief Minister said that 265 students of School of Eminence and other government schools have appeared for JEE. Have qualified in Mains examination. He said that 44 students have appeared for JEE. Advanced and 848 students have qualified NEET. 881 Aam Admi clinics have been opened in the last three years and the number of these clinics will soon cross 1,000. So far, 1.75 crore people have been given free medicines in these clinics.
The Chief Minister clearly said that such events were never held during previous governments as the state government wanted to keep people in the dark. The Chief Minister said that in the last three and a half years of his tenure, his government has cleaned up the mess created by the previous governments in the last 75 years. Rich and influential leaders who snatched away people’s rights or misused power to ruin their lives will not be spared in any way. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
