Film Club is the newest series to arrive on BBC iPlayer and telly enthusiasts have been quick to devour all six episodes in one go.

Dropping on October 7 via BBC Three and iPlayer, Film Club follows the tale of two closest mates who realise they harbour romantic feelings for each other, though numerous hurdles stand in their path.

Aimee Lou Woodstars as Evie, who has returned to live with her mum Suz (Suranne Jones) and younger sister Izzie (Liv Hill) in Manchester following personal struggles, and now battles to venture outside.

Evie's sole anchor is her weekly cinema sessions with best mate Noa (Nabhaan Rizwan), but when he announces he's taken a position in Bristol, matters become messy.

As Evie and Noa start grappling with being more than 100 miles apart, emotions emerge that neither has previously acknowledged. There's also the minor matter of Aimee's live-in partner, Josh (Adam Long), reports the Manchester Evening News.

The six-episode romantic comedy has proved a massive success with television viewers since launching, with countless fans flocking to BBC iPlayer to consume all six instalments back-to-back.

"I absolutely adore #FilmClub on #bbciplayer it's so lovely and the cast are just delightful together but the 3 girls Aimee Lou Wood, Liv Hill and Suranne Jones are just brilliant, I just binge watched it all, hope there's more," one fan wrote on X.

A second viewer concurred, commenting: "Great stuff from Aimee Lou Wood, Suranne Jones, Adam long. Arian Nik and Liv Hill in last nights #FilmClub premiere.

"Just finished Film Club and it's exactly why bbc3 is and always will be the best bbc channel, so good," another person remarked.

Meanwhile on IMDb, one Film Club enthusiast commented: "Just watched all episodes on iPlayer. The writing had so many levels with some pretty tricky subject matter, but handled them with care and humour.

"Acting brilliant from all, with the main stars Aimee and Nabhaan shining. Suranne Jones also carried off the worrying mum with ease. And portrays Film Club like most film clubs are: nerd fests. Loved this and so happy to have watched it."

A different IMDb reviewer described Film Club as "perfectly heartfelt television", whilst another praised the programme as a "tenderly written exploration on so many things".

Film Club is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
