Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara Chapter 1 continues to wreak havoc at the box office in Karnataka even if the business in Hindi is just about decent.
The Kannada epic created such a hysteria at the box office in its domestic market that it has even taken down the biggest Sandalwood blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 in the race to Rs 100 crore box office.

Kantara Chapter 1 opened to blockbuster response in Karnataka and continues to wreak havoc even though the business in other markets is far below expectations.
Kantara Chapter 1 has made around Rs 398 crore at the worldwide box office in six days out of which Rs 332 crore have come from India alone.
According to Pinkvilla, the first part of the film Kantara collected around Rs 392 crore in its lifetime run and Kantara Chapter 1 has taken down that number in flat six days.

What makes the biz in Karnataka interesting is that Kantara Chapter 1 has taken down the biggest Kannada blockbuster of all time KGF: Chapter 2 in the home state.
KGF Chapter 2 had hit Rs 100 crore in Karnataka in eight days and now Kantara Chapter 1 collected the same amount in just six days.
