Growing security concerns in the dark

Passengers passing through at night are facing difficulties due to non-functioning of street lights on the railway road located at Patiala Chowk in Jind. All the lights on the road from ACI Bank to the pharmaceutical factory are switched off, due to which it becomes dark in the evening. As long as the shops are open, the lights remain on, but as soon as the shops are closed, passengers start fearing for their safety.

At night, railway passengers use this route, and in the darkness one can easily commit crimes. Local residents have informed the authorities about this problem, but no action has been taken yet. People believe that the administration will wake up only when a major incident happens.

Lack of security on main road

Railway Road, which is one of the major routes of the city, is full of railway passengers throughout the day. SBI Bank and other establishments are also located here. Street lights were installed for the safety of pedestrians, but half of these lights do not light. The lights are completely switched off in 40 quarter mode, due to which an atmosphere of fear is created among the local residents.

Railway passengers use this route both during the day and night, but as soon as night falls, it becomes dark. There have been incidents of looting here before, but the administration has not taken any concrete steps yet. Local people have demanded from the district administration that the street lights should be repaired as soon as possible so that safety can be ensured at night.
