Amazon has selected three Indian-origin GenAI startups in the third cohort of its AWS Generative AI Accelerator (GAIA). These Indian startups, namely Hyperbots, Smallest AI, and Stimuler, are part of the 40 AI startups selected for the cohort.

While ten startups selected in the cohort hail from Asia-Pacific and Japan, the other thirty hail from various other regions such as Asia Pacific, EMEA, North America, and Latin America. These startups part of the programme are building foundational AI models and agentic AI in sectors including financial services, enterprise tech, robotics and manufacturing.

Via the accelerator, AWS will grant each startup up to $1 Mn in “AWS credits”, mentor them in technical and business aspects along with giving them access to AWS’s AI tech stack to accelerate their growth. The eight-week cohort, launching on October 13 at Amazon headquarters in Seattle, will conclude in December at Las Vegas.

“The APJ region has emerged as a powerful hub for generative AI innovation, with the ten selected startups showcasing incredible diversity and technical excellence. From language models that enhance communication and bridge cultures, to specialised AI transforming legal work, financial processes, and scientific discovery, these founders are solving complex regional challenges with global implications,” AWS’ head of startups – APJ region Tiffany Bloomquist said.

The AWS accelerator programme launched its first cohort in 2023. Seven Indian AI startups were part of the second cohort of the programme last year which included the likes of Neural Garage, Orbo.ai and Phot.ai.

Here are the three startups part of AWS’ generative AI accelerator programme 2025:

Hyperbots

Founded In: 2023

Headquarters: Bengaluru

Founders: Rajeev Pathak, Niyati Chhaya, Ram Jayaraman

Hyperbots has developed proprietary AI assistants, which have human-like intelligence, to automate manual tasks in finance and accounting. The startup claims that its platform helps reduce human involvement by 80%.

It has served over 100 clients across industries like healthcare, media, and mid-market enterprises in manufacturing, robotics, EV infrastructure, retail, among others.

While its headquarters is in Dover, Delaware, majority of the startup’s over 100 strong workforce is based out of its Bengaluru office.

In May, it raised $6.5 Mn in its Series A round co-led by VC firms Arkam Ventures and Athera Venture Partners. Besides, Kalaari Capital and Sunicorn Ventures also sit on its cap table.

Stimuler

Founded In: 2022

Headquarters: Varanasi

Founders: Akshay Akash, Akshat Baranwal, Ankit Kumar Pandey, Anesh Srivastav

Conversing in English is a social status in India, but many lack access to quality education. To bridge this gap, SStimuler offers an AI-powered app that helps people practice and improve their spoken English.

Users simply talk to the app — it listens, analyses how they speak and gives instant feedback on pronunciation, fluency, and grammar. While some features of Stimuler’s app are free to use, others need a subscription.

Stimuler claims to have over 4 Mn app downloads across Android and iOS, with more than 45,000 paid users.

The startup last raised $3.8 Mn in its pre-series A round led by Lightspeed and Singapore-based SWC Global in April.

Smallest AI

Founded In: 2023

Headquarters: San Francisco

Founders: Akshay Akash, Akshat Baranwal, Ankit Kumar Pandey, Anesh Srivastav

Tapping into the growing interest of enterprises who are looking to automate mundane tasks, Smallest AI is building foundational AI models to text to speech tools and voice AI agents.

The startup has built hyper-realistic voice agents and high-quality text-to-speech (TTS) models for various applications. It claims to generate 10 seconds of speech in just 100 milliseconds, enabling ultra-realistic voicebots with sub-second responsiveness.

They offer two core products — Waves, an AI voice platform for TTS, voice cloning, and conversion for various users, and Atoms, a real-time AI voice agent platform that integrates with business systems for tasks like customer support and lead qualification.

The startup has set up its headquarters in San Francisco but a large chunk of its team is based out of Bengaluru. smallest.ai has raised a total of around $5 Mn and includes the likes of 3one4 Capital, Crowdcube and Better Capital as its investors.
