Then in the evening, she breaks her fast by offering Arghya to the Moon and drinking water from her husband's hand.

This year, Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is starting at 10.54 pm on 9th October. This date will end the next day on October 10 at 7:38 pm. In such a situation, according to Udayatithi, this year the fast of Karva Chauth will be observed on Friday, 10th October.
Men can observe Karva Chauth fast
The basic basis of the fast of Karva Chauth is to follow the religion of pativratya. It shows the loyalty, dedication and duty of married women towards their husbands. If a husband also wants to observe Karva Chauth fast for his wife, he can do so, but he will have to pay special attention to the rules. Merely giving up eating and drinking is not called fasting.
It is important to follow these rules
If a man wants to keep the fast of Karva Chauth, then he should wake up early in the morning and take bath. After this the place of worship should be cleaned. Statues of Mother Gaura and Lord Shiva should be installed. After this one should resolve to fast. Then one should worship God. The story of the fast should be recited. Arghya should be offered to the moon. The fast should be broken only after that. The fast of Karva Chauth has to be observed without water. If men cannot do this then they can drink water, but men should follow all the other rules of the fast.
