Richa Ghosh played a brilliant counter-attacking innings of 94 runs off 77 balls. She guided India to a total of 251 against South Africa in the Women's World Cup. Ghosh received support from Amanjot Kaur and Sneh Rana. Chloe Tryon was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa. Earlier, Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal provided a solid start.

Richa Ghosh played an outstanding counter-attacking knock to lift India to 251 against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam in the Women's World Cup fixture on Thursday.

The batter came in when the team was struggling at 102/6 and took on the bowlers after taking her time to settle in. She smashed the ball all around the ground, accumulating 11 fours and four sixes. By the time she was dismissed by Nadine d Klerk in the final over, she had wreaked havoc with 94 runs off just 77 balls.

Gosh was well supported by Amanjot Kaur, with whom she added 51 runs for the seventh wicket and Sneh Rana, who scored 33 runs, and stitched a partnership 88 runs off just 53 balls.


Chloe Tryon took 3/32 to break the home team's back, while Nonkululeko Mlaba, Mazarinne Kapp and de Klerk took two wickets each.

Earlier Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put on 55 runs for the opening wicket before the team's middle order collapsed yet again.
