Ration from ATM – Big news for ration card holders. Now there is no need to go to the ration shop to get ration from the Public Distribution System (PDS). Ericsson launched the Ration ATM at the Mobile Congress on Wednesday, which was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The specialty of this ATM machine is that it is biometrics operated and can dispense 25-30 kg ration at a time.
Suppose a person’s quota is 15 kg, then the machine will tell them that they can take ration up to 15 kg. If they need only five kilograms at that time, they can take the remaining ration later at their convenience. They will be able to get their ration from ration ATM anywhere in the country. The state government is contacting companies to install such ATMs.
Ration ATMs will be installed in these states
The government has installed such ATMs in many cities of states like Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Ration ATM machines have been installed in cities like Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Ahmedabad. According to the company, each machine has a capacity of up to 500 kg. Ration comes out from the machine in just 30 seconds.
You will be able to get ration from anywhere sitting at home
Due to biometric Aadhaar linkage, any person can take his ration from anywhere, and the government will also be able to track how much ration a person has taken. This facility will be available 24 hours. You will not have to wait for the shop to open to get ration. Grains like rice, wheat and pulses can be distributed through this machine. The government currently provides free ration to more than 80 crore people.
