As culinary tourism continues to gain popularity in Asia, more Vietnamese travelers are prioritizing hotels that offer free breakfast, according to a report by online travel platform Agoda.

The report, which surveyed over 25,000 respondents across six Asian markets, found that 67% of Vietnamese travelers prefer accommodations that include complimentary breakfast.

This preference reflects a broader trend among tourists seeking convenience and value in their stays. A free breakfast not only provides a cost-effective start to the day but also allows travelers to experience local flavors and hospitality, Agoda noted.

This trend is particularly notable in Asia, where breakfast options range from traditional local dishes to international favorites.

Dinh Khanh, 30, from Ho Chi Minh City, told VnExpress International said he always chooses breakfast-included hotels to save time in the morning and reduce travel costs.

“Hotel breakfast may not always be luxurious or elaborate, but it usually provides quality food and enough energy for a full day,” Khanh added.

Hoang Huong, who often travels with her children, said that staying at hotels with complimentary breakfast makes trips much easier.

“It doesn’t have to be a huge buffet—just simple eggs and some fruits are enough,” she said.
