He was the chief advisor to Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of the Maurya Empire. Chanakya received education at Takshashila University and also worked as a professor there. He played an important role in the fall of the Nanda dynasty and making Chandragupta Maurya the emperor. He is considered the author of the politics-based treatise “Arthashastra” and the collection of policies “Chanakya Niti”.
