TV and radio star Amanda Holden has revealed her daughters Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13, are "quite disinterested" in her showbiz career, with her youngest child refusing to have "any connection" with The Inner Circle presenter, prompting her husband Chris Hughes to leap to her defence. The Britain's Got Talent judge revealed she has instructed her girls to "develop a thick skin" should they wish to pursue her path, with Lexi already securing representation with Storm modelling agency.
Despite Amanda believing Hollie would thrive in the limelight thanks to her "robust" and "chatty" nature, the teenager remains reluctant to be spotted alongside her celebrity mother. Amanda revealed to The Sun's TV Mag: "You do have to develop a thick skin and they both know that Mummy has one and that we take everything with a pinch of salt in our house. So I hope they've learnt enough from me. Because, obviously, there's been moments around the dinner table and they've heard things and watched things, but they're quite disinterested in me and my career - I get ignored!"

"I picked Hollie up from her new school the other day and she does not want any connection with me. I got out of the car, she saw me and literally crossed the road.
"Chris was going: 'Hollie, this is your mother. You should be proud of your mum!' And she's like: 'Mum, please get back in the car!' So they're both very down to earth."
This follows Amanda's fierce response to accusations that Lexi is a "nepo baby", emphasising that her eldest daughter's modelling contract has "nothing to do with me being her mum".
The television host previously told Radio Times: "Yes, she's related to me, but that's nothing to do with me. The word "nepo" can be thrown around for ever but it's unfair it's been used in showbiz."

Amanda revealed that when she was seeking her first job in her youth, her mother lent a hand as well. She disclosed: "When I was young, I got a job in a fruit 'n' veg shop because my mum knew the fruit 'n' veg guy.
"If you know someone that can help your child get in somewhere, you'll do whatever."
Amanda makes her return to television tonight for a celebrity edition of her brand new quiz programme, The Inner Circle. The BBC programme showcases contestants alongside their famous partners battling it out to secure a cash reward.
Famous faces featuring in tonight's episode include; Lawrence Chaney, Hannah Cockroft, Rick Edwards, Darren Harriott, Sarah Parish, and Fay Ripley.
