American in the UK shares 'overhyped' British things and people are fuming

Brits have been left fuming after one American living in the UK shared the things he believes are "overhyped" in this country - and one is sacred. "The disappointment was real with ALL three of these," @kjordyyy captioned his video, triggeringall of the UK in the process. He did try to caveat it with the fact it was his "humble opinion," sharing he didn't want to "upset" anyone with what he thought to be true.

However, even with his well-timed disclaimer at the start of the TikTok, people were still left calling him "crazy" for the things he wasn't a fan of.

1. Tea

First, he came for tea. He said: "Tea for breakfast, tea for lunch, afternoon tea. I just personally don't believe it lives up to its hype.

"There are so many goats out there. There are hot liquids besides tea... for example, coffee.

"Coffee beats tea because coffee actually gives you an effect. Like, tea does nothing. It has no strong taste to me."

Despite his criticism, he did admit he'd rather have a cup of tea "than a matcha, though," which may have slightly redeemed him.

2. A Sunday roast

Meat, roast potatoes, and lashings of gravy. On a serious note, what's not to love? But @kjordyyy reckons they're overhyped.

He explained: "I had my first Sunday roast ever last weekend, and it just didn't live up to the hype.

"You think a Sunday roast is God's gift to man. It genuinely tastes like an unseasoned Thanksgiving.

"I honestly think the fact that it brings families together, it's almost like, nostalgic that you do this every single Sunday with your mom or your dad or your friends.

"[This] makes it that much hyped. Not the food, no, but it's probably the experience why Brits love a Sunday roast so much.

"But for me, it wasn't worth the hype man."

3. The Inbetweeners

Yes, indeed, he means the series that first burst onto our screens in 2008 which we've all howled with laughter at (probably more than once).

He said: "Every single time I talk about British humour, Brits are always like 'mate, you've gotta watch The Inbetweeners'.

"And after seeing an episode, I genuinely don't think I laughed once. Overhyped.

"I just think it's completely different humour, and I'm not hating on British TV. There are multiple shows that are way better than The Inbetweeners. For example, Derry Girls. Derry Girls is funny."

He joked he didn't want to hear people "moaning in the comments," but of course, naturally, that's exactly what happened.

Someone wrote: "Inbetweeners is only funny to people who went to school in the UK."

Another penned: "It's where you go for the Sunday Roast that makes the difference."

Somebody replied: "Ok, but can someone tell us where to go!??!?! If they’re so amazing, why is it so difficult to find one that slaps?"

The person responded: "You could start with someone's nan's house, that's where you'll taste a proper roast."
