Jolie, 50, submitted new documents to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Oct. 6 as part of her ongoing legal dispute with Pitt, 61, over Château Miraval, the French estate and winery they once co-owned, People reported.
In her declaration, the Oscar-winning actress stated that she gave Pitt “control (and full residency) of our family homes in Los Angeles and at Miraval, without compensation, which I hoped would make him calmer in his dealings with me after a difficult and traumatic period.”
Jolie said that her savings were “tied up in Miraval” and that she had not asked the “Fight Club” actor for “alimony or any other financial support.”
The filing stated that Jolie became so financially strained she could not afford to buy a home outright in Los Angeles, prompting Pitt to agree to loan her money “with interest.”
Jolie said that in early 2017 she discussed selling her stake in Miraval to Pitt, but the negotiations were “always difficult” due to her “deep emotional ties” to the property and “how [their] relationship ended.”
The couple, who separated in 2016 after 12 years together and two years of marriage, finalized their divorce in December 2024. Their legal battle over Miraval continues, as Pitt sued Jolie in February 2022, alleging she sold her 50% stake in 2021 to Tenute del Mondo, a wine division of the Stoli Group, without his consent, violating their alleged prior agreement that neither could sell without the other’s approval.
Jolie later filed a countersuit in September 2022, claiming Pitt had been “waging a vindictive war against” her since their 2016 separation.
In her latest filing, Jolie described Miraval as “one of the first major investments” she and Pitt made during their relationship. “It was a focal point of our family life,” she wrote. “We were married there, I spent part of my pregnancy there, and I brought our twin children home there from the hospital. To have such a sudden break from my home and memories has been hard, and it was especially difficult for the children to have their lives so disrupted.”
Jolie and Pitt first met on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2005 while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. The couple wed in 2014 and share six children, Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.
The “Maleficent” star said she and her children “have never again set foot” at Miraval because of its “connection to the painful events leading to the divorce.”
Following their split, Jolie was granted primary custody, and several of their children have reportedly distanced themselves from Pitt, with only their youngest son, Knox, maintaining regular contact.
