Meanwhile, BJP's Central Election Committee has started meetings in the national capital to finalize the list of candidates for Bihar elections. On Saturday, an important meeting of top NDA leaders was held at the house of BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda. Leaders like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAM)(S) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary attended the meeting.
In a separate development, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) called a meeting of the Central Parliamentary Board in Delhi to chalk out strategy ahead of the elections. Party MP Shambhavi Chaudhary said that the meeting was chaired by party chief Chirag Paswan, who will take the final decision on seat distribution. Meanwhile, independent MP from Purnia Pappu Yadav on Sunday stressed the importance of the Grand Alliance and described the Bihar Assembly elections as a battle between "destruction" and "development".
Speaking to reporters, Pappu Yadav said, "Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lives according to the respect of his party and its workers. The principle of alliance is supreme, whether it is a small party or a big one. Alliance is necessary, people of Bihar are important, and victory of INDIA alliance is important; seats are not important. This election is based on destruction versus development... This election will be fought on the strength of Rahul Gandhi's love, development and struggle."
Voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, while the counting of votes will take place on November 14. In the upcoming elections, NDA will face the opposition's INDIA block. The INDIA block includes Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, CPI(ML) Liberation, CPI, CPI(M), and Mukesh Sahni-led Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). In this year's elections, political strategist Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party will also contest the elections in Bihar.
