
The bowling all-rounder Annabel Sutherland went on to pick a five-wicket haul, helping Australia to restrict India to 330 runs in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 clash on October 12 at Vizag.
She wrapped up India’s order bowling with an economy of 4.10, conceding 40 runs in 59 balls she delivered.
After being invited to bat first, Indian batters made a decent start but picked up the pace, smashing fours and sixes during the game.
Despite trying six bowling options, Australia couldn’t find an opening to require the necessary breakthrough.
The opener duo went on to score 58 runs in the powerplay and reached the 100 run mark in the 19th over. In the meantime, Smriti Mandhana went on to smash her fifty and looked well settled.
Pratika Rawal also followed Mandhana smashing her fifty as India crossed 150 run mark. Mandhana-Pratika Rawal teamed up to post 155 runs for the first wicket.
However, Smriti Mandhana got dismissed on Sophie Molineux’s delivery in the 25th over. She walked back to dugout on a frustration with 80 runs off 66 deliveries which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.
During the game she also become the first female cricketer to cross 1000 run mark in a calendar year. Mandhana also become the fastest to 5000 ODI runs via innings.
Harleen Deol who came to bat joined Pratika Rawal, further troubled Australian bowlers. With Pratika Rawal got dismissed for 75 runs by Annabel Sutherland, Harmanpreet Kaur kept the momentum, scoring 22 runs off 17 deliveries before being dismissed by Megan Schutt.
Molineux got her second wicket sending off Harleen Deol for 38 runs while Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh added 33 and 32 runs in the scoreboard helping the side to cross 300-run mark.
Amanjot Kaur went on to add 16 runs to the board before being dismissed by Gardner. In the 49th over, India lost wickets of Kranti Gaud and Shree Charani and lost all 10 wickets for 330 runs.
Annabel Sutherland finished with 5 wickets while Sophie Molineux bagged three wickets in her spell. Megan Schutt and Ashleigh Gardner bagged 1 wicket each during their spells.
