Synopsis

Apple is preparing to launch new devices soon. The iPad Pro, Vision Pro headset, and 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to feature the powerful M5 chip. These updates are expected to be announced online.

Apple is expected to launch the new M5-powered devices this week.
Apple is on a roll. Fresh off the much-hyped launch of the iPhone 17 line-up something we covered live from Apple Park, the company might not be done just yet. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could be gearing up to unveil refreshed versions of the iPad Pro, the Vision Pro headset, and the base 14-inch MacBook Pro all powered by its next-generation M5 chip.

Unlike its headline-grabbing stage events, Apple is expected to quietly introduce these new devices through online announcements and short promotional videos. With Monday being a holiday in the US and Canada, the reveal could be slightly delayed meaning Indian audiences might see updates later this week.

iPad Pro M5 is almost here

The next iPad Pro has already leaked before Apple could even announce it. Unboxing videos from Russia revealed that the tablet will ship with the M5 processor and at least 12GB of RAM as standard. The design remains mostly unchanged, except for one subtle tweak the “iPad Pro” branding is no longer etched on the back.

Performance is where things get interesting. Early benchmarks suggest a clear jump around 12% faster multi-core performance and up to 36% better graphics compared to the M4 variant. While there were rumours of a new dual front-camera setup for easier video calls, the leaked units showed no such change leaving some mystery around the final design.

Vision Pro joins the M5 club

Apple’s most ambitious product, the Vision Pro headset, is also set to get a refresh — now reportedly running on the same M5 chip as the new iPad Pro. Initially expected to move to M4, Apple appears to be aligning all its high-end products on the M5 for consistency and performance parity.

This updated Vision Pro may include a new “Dual Knit Band” for improved comfort and could come in a Space Black finish. Regulatory filings suggest it will still rely on Wi-Fi 6, rather than the newer Wi-Fi 6E or 7 standards. Whether this is marketed as a “second generation” Vision Pro or just a spec update remains unclear, especially since Apple has reportedly paused work on both the full-fledged Vision Pro 2 and the cheaper “Vision Air” shifting its focus toward smart glasses.

MacBook Pro goes M5 too

The third product likely to join the M5 lineup is the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. Gurman’s report claims this model is “ready for launch” and will debut with the standard M5 chip. The more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max variants are expected in 2026, as Apple takes a phased approach to rolling out its newest silicon family.

Visually, not much changes this year. The major design upgrades OLED displays, slimmer frames, touch support, built-in 5G, and the eventual jump to M6 processors on TSMC’s 2nm process are reportedly reserved for future models.

What’s next for Apple?

Beyond these M5 updates, Apple’s product roadmap stays busy. Gurman hints at new AirTags, an Apple TV refresh, and a next-gen HomePod mini in development. 2026 could also bring updated versions of the entry-level iPad, iPad Air, MacBook Air, and possibly the new iPhone 17e.

For now, though, all eyes are on Apple’s newsroom this week. If the reports hold true, the company is about to quietly expand its hardware family with three powerful devices all carrying the blazing new M5 chip at their core.
