National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a new rule regarding UPI, which will definitely bring a smile on your face. this new rule December 31, 2025 Will come into effect from.
What is this new change and how will it benefit you?
Let us understand this with an easy example. Suppose, you have set up autopayment of your home electricity bill (money automatically deducted every month) on Google Pay. At the same time, Netflix subscription is deducted from PhonePe. What happens now? You have to open separate apps to view or manage both these payments.
But now this hassle will be completely over!
Under the new rule, you will be able to view and manage all your UPI payments and autopayments from any one of your favorite apps. This means that you can see the payment set up on PhonePe in Google Pay, and if you want, you can change or stop it from there. You no longer need to open ten different apps for everything. Everything will be in one place, at your fingertips.
Some big benefits of this change:
- Time Saving: With all the autopayments (like electricity bill, mobile recharge, EMI, subscription) visible in one place, tracking them will become child’s play.
- Better control over money: When you know where and when your money is going to be spent, you will be able to plan your expenses in a better way.
- Change apps easily: If you ever want to switch from one UPI app to another, now you don’t have to worry. All your old autopayments will be easily transferred to the new app.
- No coercion: NPCI has made it clear that no app will force you to use its platform by luring you with offers. It will be entirely your choice which app you choose to manage all your payments.
- Enhanced Security: Along with this new feature, security like face recognition and biometric verification has also been added, which will make your transactions more secure than before.
This new update is going to make the online payment experience simpler and more convenient than ever.
