JDU has released the first list of candidates for Bihar elections 2025. There are more than a dozen names in it including Shyam Rajak. This list reflects Nitish Kumar's election strategy by balancing old and new faces.
Patna: The phase of ticket distribution within NDA for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 has now gained momentum. Late on Monday night, Janata Dal United (JDU) also released the first list of its candidates. Amidst the long-running confusion and resentment, the party has announced the names of more than a dozen candidates. With this list, JDU has once again made it clear that this time both the balance of faces and political experience will be important in the elections.
Shyam Rajak's return increased the stir
The most discussed name in the list is that of former minister Shyam Rajak. JDU has made him its candidate from Phulwari Sharif assembly seat. Shyam Rajak was in the fray on RJD ticket in the 2020 assembly elections, but at that time this seat had gone to the Left parties. After this he left RJD and joined JDU again. Now, by giving him a chance again, Nitish Kumar has given a clear message that old colleagues are being given importance in the party.
Kaushal Kishore and other big names included
Many old and new faces have been included in this list of JDU.
- Kaushal Kishore has been made the candidate from Rajgir.
- Suryagarha to Ramanand Mandal,
- Jamalpur to Nachiketa Mandal,
- Rajkumar Singh from Matihani,
- Rajkumar Rai from Hasanpur,
- Manjeet Singh from Barauli,
- Panna Singh Patel from Beldaur,
- Arun Manjhi from Masaurhi,
- Komal Singh from Gaighat,
- Wife of Rambalak Singh from Vibhutipur,
- Amarendra Pandey from Kuchayakot,
- Randhir Singh (son of Prabhunath Singh) from Manjhi,
- Ramsevak Singh from Hathua,
- Narendra Narayan has been declared the candidate from Alamnagar.
There was a stir over ticket distribution
Just before this announcement by JDU, there were reports of resentment within the party regarding ticket distribution. Many senior leaders had alleged that JDU has got less seats in NDA. Especially in areas like Gaya, Nawada and Samastipur, there was dissatisfaction regarding swapping of seats. But by suddenly releasing the list late at night, the party indicated that now everything is finalized and the time has come to enter the field.
Nitish Kumar's strategy is clear
This list of JDU is being considered a part of the political strategy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. On one hand, he has given a second chance to the old trusted faces, while on the other hand he has also tried to bring new energy to the field by fielding some new faces. Now that BJP and us (Hindustani Awam Morcha) have already released their lists, with the entry of JDU, the electoral face of NDA is becoming almost certain. According to sources, the decision on the remaining seats will also be taken in the next few days and by then symbols will have been distributed to all the candidates.
