
Dharamshala, 16 October (Read News). Under the special campaign being run by District Kangra Police against drugs, last night, on the basis of secret information, the special team of District Kangra Police has recovered Rs. 34,000 cash along with 50 grams of Chitta from Bolero camper number HP-53-9810. In this case, the police have arrested two drug smugglers traveling in the vehicle and taken further action.
In this case, the police have arrested Ramdas alias Ramu, son of Shyam Lal, resident of Ward No. 10, Village, Post Office and Tehsil Baijnath District Kangra, age 36 years and Rakesh alias Sonu, son of Late Suresh Rana, resident of Village Khalet Post Office Thakurdwara Tehsil Palampur District Kangra, age 37 years and registered a case under NDPS ACT.
SP Kangra Ashok Ratna said that along with 50 grams of chitta, cash worth Rs 34 thousand was also recovered from the possession of both the accused. Both the accused have been arrested by the police and a case has been registered against them under the Narcotics Act.
He told that the above accused were active in the illegal drug trade for a long time and were constantly on the target of the police. Last midnight, when both of them were bringing a consignment of chitta/heroin in a Bolero camper vehicle, the special team of District Kangra Police, acting swiftly on the basis of secret information, arrested the above accused with a consignment of 50 grams of chitta and cash at Sarnu near Shahpur.
