Aurangabad Assembly Elections 2025: The battle for Aurangabad Assembly is again at an interesting turn. BJP won in 2010, Congress won in 2015 and 2020. Now the question is whether Congress will score a hat-trick or BJP will make a comeback?

Aurangabad Assembly Election 2025: Aurangabad assembly seat of Aurangabad district of Bihar is considered an important seat of politics. The contest here has been going on between Congress (INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a long time. The picture of this area changed repeatedly in the three elections from 2010 to 2020. Sometimes BJP and sometimes Congress won the trust of the public. Now the 2025 elections are full of new equations and suspense.

Aurangabad assembly election, 2010

  • Winner: Ramdhar Singh (BJP) -41,176 votes
  • Loser: Sunil Kumar Singh (RJD)-34,934 votes

Note : In 2010, Aurangabad expressed confidence in BJP. At that time Congress was weak and RJD hoped that the Yadav-Bhuihar equation would work, but Ramdhar Singh strengthened BJP's position by registering victory.

Aurangabad Assembly election, 2015

  • Winner: Anand Shankar Singh (INC)-63,637 votes
  • Loser: Ramdhar Singh (BJP)-45,239 votes

Note: The 2015 elections were of the era of grand alliance. Congress fielded Anand Shankar Singh and gave a tough fight to BJP. The caste equation and strength of the alliance led Congress to victory. This victory gave new life to Congress in this area.

2020 Aurangabad Assembly elections

  • Winner: Anand Shankar Singh (INC) -70,018 votes
  • Loser: Ramdhar Singh (BJP) – 67,775 votes

Note: The 2020 election was very thorny. Anand Shankar Singh of Congress defeated Ramdhar Singh of BJP by a small margin. Employment, local problems and dissatisfaction among the people with the policies of BJP became important reasons in this election. Congress moved towards a hat-trick by registering its second consecutive victory.

Note: Anand Shankar Singh is a post graduate. There are three criminal cases against him. His total movable and immovable assets are Rs 3,58,83,259 and he also has a loan of Rs 9,04,666.

2025 elections – equations and suspense

  • Congress can give another chance to Anand Shankar Singh.
  • BJP is making a comeback strategy by fielding Ramdhar Singh or a new face.
  • Caste equations will still be important, but jobs, education and migration are the biggest issues among the youth.
  • Resentment over the lack of local development work, roads and health services can also have an impact.

Questions that make Aurangabad elections mysterious?
