Bollywood actress Zareen Khan has expressed her frustration over the increasing number of inappropriate and vulgar comments she receives on her social media posts, particularly on Instagram. In a short video shared on both Instagram and Facebook, the actress questioned whether this issue is unique to her or if other public figures face similar harassment.

Zareen said she has observed that the moment she posts anything online — even something as serious as a condolence message — a flood of explicit and offensive comments begin to appear. Shockingly, some of these comments include phrases like “Gila kar dungi”, “I want a boyfriend.”, “Service available”and “A lonely bird on the ground.”.

The actress added that she receives dozens of such comments from multiple accounts immediately after she uploads any content. These messages are often lewd, sexual in nature, and deeply disrespectful. She also pointed out that these accounts sometimes post irrelevant images under her posts, which makes her question whether these profiles are genuine or fake bot accounts.

In her video message, Zareen directly asked fellow celebrities and general users whether they experience the same level of online abuse, or if she is being specifically targeted.

She expressed concern about the current state of social media platforms, especially Instagram, where such behavior appears to go unchecked. Zareen also questioned the authenticity of the profiles making such remarks, asking whether they are real users or just bots created to spam and harass.

In response, many viewers commented that a large section of India’s younger generation is struggling with mental and moral issues, and this is reflected in their online behavior.

Zareen’s bold stance highlights the growing problem of digital harassment faced by women in the entertainment industry.
