
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has confirmed that it is witnessing “significant signs of recovery” following a widespread outage that disrupted access to numerous major websites and applications globally on Monday.
In a statement on its official status pageAWS said that most user requests are now succeedingthough the company warned of residual latency and backlogs as its systems continue to stabilize.
The outage, which began earlier in the day, caused widespread disruptions across multiple sectors — from social media and gaming to fintech and productivity platforms. According to Downdetectorthe affected services included Snapchat, Zoom, Canva, Coinbase, Slack, Signal, Roblox, Duolingo, Smartsheet, Life360, MyFitnessPal, Epic Games, Peloton, Rocket League, PlayStation Networkand Clash Royaleamong others.
While some users have reported that access to several platforms has been restored, AWS engineers continue to monitor the recovery process closely to ensure full functionality is restored.
This incident, one of the most significant AWS outages in recent months, underscores how heavily global digital infrastructure relies on Amazon’s cloud ecosystemwhich powers thousands of major applications and enterprises worldwide.
