Thailand foreign tourist arrivals down by 7.45% so far this year

Thailand's foreign tourist arrivals from January 1 to October 19 decreased by 7.45% year-on-year, reaching 25.65 million visitors. Malaysia and China were the top source markets. The central bank has lowered its annual arrival forecast to 33 million, down from 35 million.

Thailand's foreign tourist arrivals from January 1 to October 19 fell 7.45% from the same period a year earlier, the Tourism Ministry said on Tuesday.

There were 25.65 million foreign visitors during the period, it said in a statement. Malaysia was the largest source market with 3.71 million visitors, followed by China with 3.65 million.

In October, the central bank cut its forecast for foreign tourist arrivals this year to 33 million from 35 million. There was a record of nearly 40 million visitors in 2019, before the pandemic.
