In his greeting message, he said that Govardhan Puja is a symbol of the importance of cow and cow progeny in an agricultural country like India. CM Yogi said that it is my good fortune that this morning I have got the opportunity to worship cow and do cow service here. Indian cattle have been the basis of India’s prosperity. Even today, with the inspiration of the Prime Minister, the innovative programs of making bio-compost and ethanol from cow dung which have been started in the country under Govardhan Yojana, are playing a big role in the promotion and conservation of cow progeny.

CM Yogi further said that I am happy to tell that not only the worship but also an action plan is being started accordingly. There are 16 lakh cows in the state on which we are giving subsidy through the state government. This effort has been started to ensure that farmers’ crops do not suffer damage. There are three types of schemes. Destitute Goshala Scheme, in which we provide Rs 1500 per month for each cow at the government level. Similarly, there is a participatory scheme, in which if a farmer joins our program of cow protection, he is provided with 4 cows.
