Ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright has slammed Liverpool players following their sequence of four consecutive defeats, insisting Arne Slot's stars are clueless about what their manager expects from them. The Reds splashed the cash during the recent summer transfer window, revamping their squad in a bid to hold onto their Premier League title.
Mikel Arteta's outfit finished second to the Reds last campaign, with both clubs battling for the Premier League title once again during the opening weeks of this term. Slot's side started the season in red-hot form, though performances didn't necessarily match results - and they've surrendered top spot in following a poor run of form.
Currently, the Gunners possess the upper hand and sit three points ahead of Manchester City in second position, while Liverpool have slipped to third after three successive Premier League losses, trailing Arsenal by four points.

They managed to recover with a commanding victory against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League last evening. Wright, though, remains unconvinced by Liverpool this campaign.
"I don't think they understand what the manager [Slot] wants them to do," Wright said on The Overlap. "When you look at the way they are playing, they either win or they lose, it's feast or famine with them.
"There is no cohesion with them, none of the players are thriving with them, you look at [Hugo] Ekitike, he started the season well. You would have thought to leave him in there.
"I know [Alexander] Isak has come in but the only player you can look at from Liverpool who is doing it is [Ekitike] and he has been left out the last couple of [Premier League] games. Full-backs are not doing it at the moment for me.

"Midfield it's not happening. [Ryan] Gravenberch isn't having the same kind of season.
"With [Mohamed] Salah, you've either got to create space for him or give him the ball where he can go and attack. But he's not getting either of those two things.
"Give him the ball where he's got time or get him to attack the space - none of that is happening. Trent [Alexander-Arnold] is a massive miss in that. The players don't seem quite convinced."
Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace - at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon - while Liverpool travel to Brentford for the late kick-off on Saturday evening.
