Global pop star Selena Gomez has finally unveiled the reason for keeping her highly anticipated wedding to music producer Benny Blanco under wraps.

In a heartfelt interview on the Jennifer Hudson Show, the Heart Wants What It Wants singer shared that she wanted to control how her wedding was presented to the public. “I didn’t want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can,” Selena revealed.

The singer also shared a “sneaky thing” she did to maintain secrecy using a decoy outfit to divert attention. “That dress was initially for the first look, and then this lace ceremony one was made by Ralph Lauren, they all were.but this was my favorite,” she added.

The 33-year-old singer and actress tied the knot with Benny Blanco on September 27, 2025, in a romantic ceremony held in Santa Barbara, California, attended by a galaxy of stars including Ed Sheeran, Martin Short, Steve Martin, Paul Rudd, Paris Hilton, Zoe Saldaña, SZA, and Taylor Swift.

Selena later shared official photos from the wedding on Instagram, featuring heartwarming moments of the couple embracing, holding hands, and celebrating their union. Another image highlighted her bouquet and wedding rings, captioned “9.27.25.”

For those unaware, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in July 2023, and their love story has since blossomed into one of Hollywood’s most admired relationships.
