Monsoon Update – 110 Kmph Storm to Bring Very Heavy Rain to 7 States Next 2 Days

Monsoon Update: Weather patterns across the country are shifting. Winter has begun to arrive in many states. Meanwhile, Cyclone Montha, developing in the Bay of Bengal, has intensified. According to the Meteorological Department, this depression has now strengthened into a cyclonic storm and could become a severe cyclonic storm within the next 24 hours. Its maximum wind speed is 90-100 km/h, gusting to 110 km/h.

The storm is moving northwest and is expected to make landfall on the Andhra Pradesh coast in the evening or overnight on October 28th. It is estimated that light showers have already begun in Chennai. This could impact seven states, including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh. Chennai, Tiruvallur, and Ranipet in Tamil Nadu may also be affected.

Red alert issued in these states
The IMD has issued a red alert for Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in these states on October 28-29. A red alert has been issued in nine districts of Andhra Pradesh, while an orange alert is in effect in the remaining areas, including Tamil Nadu and Odisha. Heavy rainfall alerts have also been issued in West Bengal, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until October 29.

Heavy Rain Warning in These States
Due to Cyclone Monta, heavy rainfall is expected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu between October 27 and 30. The Indian Army has been put on alert.

North India Weather Forecast
Weather changes are expected in Delhi-NCR for the next three days. According to the IMD, drizzle is expected in the evening or night on October 27 and 28. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh, the weather may change once again. A rain alert has been issued for the next four days, starting October 27th.

Bihar may be affected by the Bay of Bengal cyclone. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected between October 29th and 31st, with strong winds and thunderstorms possible in some districts.

In the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, light rain is expected on October 27th due to a Western Disturbance, which is likely to intensify the cold.
