Tech company Meta has taken a big step to keep its users safe from online scams and fraud. The company has released some special features for the safety of the users. Under this new feature released by the company, an alert will be issued to the users before the scam. Along with this, Meta has also introduced some new tools and features to keep users’ accounts safe.

Meta said the company recently caught more than 8 million scam networks on Facebook and Instagram in countries like Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and the UAE. These scams are mainly launched through messaging, dating apps, social media and crypto platforms. Apart from this, the company has also taken action against more than 21,000 fake pages and accounts. Screen sharing alert will be available on WhatsApp

Meta now WhatsApp A new security alert will be added to the screen sharing feature during video calls. If a user shares the screen with any stranger, the app will immediately issue an alert to that user. “Only share your screen with people you trust, as you may accidentally share your bank details or other sensitive information,” the alert reads.

Meta said, “We know that scammers often pressure users to share screens, so that scammers can get access to personal information like banking or verification codes. This new tool will help users identify suspicious activity so that users don’t get scammed.”

AI-based scam detection system coming soon to Messenger

Meta is now testing a new AI-based scam detection system for Messenger as well. When this system is activated, the app will immediately alert users if a potential scam or suspicious message is detected in the chat. Apart from this, users will also be given the option to send their recent chats for AI scam review. The company said that if a scam or scam is detected, users will be informed about common scam patterns and suggested measures such as blocking or reporting them. The company has not yet given any information about when this new feature will be released for Messenger. But due to this decision taken by the company, the security of the users will increase further.
