At this time Lord Surya will rise at 06:30 in the morning and sunset at 05:40 in the evening. On this day, after offering evening arghya to the Sun God, the devotees will offer a second arghya the next morning at sunrise, with which the fast ends.third day puja ritualThe third day of Chhath Puja starts from Kharna, after which the devotees observe a waterless fast of 36 hours. On this day, the first Arghya is offered to the Sun God in the evening. The puja items like fruits, flowers, thekua, rice laddus, sugarcane, coconut etc. are kept in a soup pot or bamboo basket and taken to Chhath Ghat or Jal Teerth. Here, Arghya is offered to the Sun God from a brass vessel while reciting the mantra ‘Om Ghrini Suryay Namah’.After this, the devotees circumambulate the Sun God five times and then light a lamp and pray for the well-being of the family and children.
