What is Elon Musk’s new Grokipedia?
Grokipedia is presented by Musk as a better alternative to Wikipedia. This new platform works differently than ChatGPT, Gemini or Musk’s Grok chatbot. The platform acts like a search engine rather than a normal conversational interface. Here users only need to type the name of a subject. Suppose, if you type Paris, you will get complete information about that city. (Photo Courtesy – Pinterest)
How to use Grokipedia?
Users will be able to search for information on any topic directly by visiting Grokipedia.com. It is said that a note will also be seen at the bottom of many articles. In which it is written that, ‘The content is adapted from Wikipedia, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License.’ This means that much of the content found on Grokipedia is still taken from Wikipedia.

It processes data from both AI and the community through the xAI algorithm, making content more accurate and structured. Currently version 0.1 of Grokipedia is live and is constantly being upgraded. Musk has promised that the platform will offer a 10x better experience in version 1.0. Users can go to and login with their X account. There is no official mobile app available for this yet.
Grokipedia to compete with Wikipedia?
Wikimedia Foundation spokesperson Lauren Dickinson has said that Grokipedia also needs Wikipedia to exist. Wikipedia’s non-profit and ad-free policy has made it a trusted source for decades. So now it will be important to see if Grokipedia can really compete with Wikipedia in the future or if this platform will remain only an AI-powered version.
