Grand alliance has issued 'Tejaswi Pran Patra' for Bihar elections 2025. There is a promise of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees and posting in the home district. It has also been resolved to phase out contract workers and end outsourcing.
Patna: The 'stunning promise letter' issued by the opposition alliance INDIA (Grand Alliance) for the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 has made a series of big promises for government employees, contractual workers and people working on outsourcing. The Grand Alliance has prominently included these promises in its 25 resolutions, which can directly impact this large section. While releasing the manifesto, Tejashwi Yadav made it clear that the aim of his government is not only to create employment but also to improve the living and working conditions of the employees.
2 big gifts for government employees of Bihar
The Grand Alliance has made two historic announcements to help the government employed class.
- Withdrawal of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS): It has been made clear in the resolution letter that the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) will be implemented immediately after the formation of the government. This has been a long standing demand of central and state government employees.
- Posting in home district: A consistent policy will be made for teachers, health workers and other services personnel, under which their transfer and posting will be ensured within a radius of 70 kilometers of their home district. This will provide them convenience to live near the workplace.
Permanentization of contract and outsourcing employees of Bihar
The biggest relief has been announced for contractual and temporary employees, which can free them from the unstable salaries and insecure jobs they have been getting for a long time.
- Phased permanentization: All contract workers and employees working on outsourcing will be made permanent in a phased manner.
- Government employee status: Initiative will be taken to regularize the services of all Shiksha-Mitras, Tola Sevaks, Talimi Markaz and Vikas-Mitras and give them the status of government employees.
- Ending the outsourcing system: It has been promised in the resolution that the outsourcing system will be completely ended, so that the role of middlemen can be eliminated.
- Salary of Jeevika Didis Rs 30,000: By making all the Didis (CM) of Jeevika cadre permanent, their salary will be fixed at ₹ 30,000 per month. Also, interest on their loan will be waived and interest free loan will be provided for two years.
Justice for unfunded colleges of Bihar
An important announcement has also been made for the employees working in educational institutions. All non-finance affiliated colleges of the state will be recognized as “Finance Colleges”. Under this, professors and other personnel will be provided salaries and allowances similar to those of colleges including government finance.
This broad agenda of the Grand Alliance shows that it wants to make not only unemployment but also the working conditions of the already employed employees and their long-term security a major election issue.
