Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its new SUV, the Tata Sierra. It was first showcased in concept form at the 2025 Auto Expo and has since been one of the most anticipated cars in the Indian passenger vehicle market. Now, the SUV is all set to make a comeback on November 25 in a completely new and modern avatar.

Most importantly, the design of the new Tata Sierra will remind Indian customers of the original Tata Sierra, which was a popular SUV on Indian roads between 1991 and 2003. According to the company, the ICE Sierra will be launched first on November 25, while its electric version will be launched a little later.

Powerful design

The new Tata Sierra returns with its iconic design philosophy. The SUV will again see the iconic Alpine window of the older model. Tata has combined the classic design of the old model with modern styling to give this SUV an even more attractive look. It is likely to get modern features like LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), LED taillamps, functional roof rails and sporty 19-inch alloy wheels.

The new Tata Sierra will be introduced as a premium SUV. Keeping in view the changing needs of the customers, the company has provided many hi-tech and luxury features in it. It will get Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree surround view camera and other advanced features, making this SUV one of the most modern cars in its segment.

The SUV will come with 3 engine options

The new Tata Sierra will be launched in three powertrain options, petrol, diesel and electric versions. The petrol variant will be powered by the company’s new 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, which was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. A naturally aspirated (NA) version of the same engine can be offered in the entry-level variants. While the diesel model will get the 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is currently used in the Tata Curvv.

Price

The price (ex-showroom) of the new Tata Sierra SUV is likely to start from around ₹12 lakh. It will enter the mid-size SUV segment, where it will compete with popular SUV models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and Kia Seltos.
