Railway RPF Recruitment: The Railways has announced new rules for Sub-Inspector and Constable (Executive) recruitment in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Ministry of Railways has issued revised rules, which include information such as physical standards, age limits, and exam patterns.
These changes aim to align the RPF recruitment process with the standards followed by the Central Armed Police Forces. The new rules have been implemented with their publication in the Gazette of India.
Changed Age Limit
According to the new RPF recruitment rules, candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age. Previously, the age limit for constable positions was 18 to 25 years. The age limit for SI recruitment is 20 to 28 years.
Regarding educational qualifications, a 10th-grade pass is required for constable recruitment, and a graduate from a recognized university for SI positions.
Physical Standards Also Changed
The physical standards for RPF recruitment have also changed. Until now, the minimum height requirement was 165 cm. This has now been increased to a minimum of 170 cm. Furthermore, the chest circumference has been increased to 80 cm without expansion and 85 cm with expansion.
Changes in the Medical Test Process
Previously, RPF medical officers primarily conducted the medical tests for RPF recruitment. Now, this process will be conducted by CAPF medical officers or Grade I government medical officers.
