Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched a new and affordable insurance scheme for women, named LIC Bhagya LakshmiThis plan has been specially designed for those women who want more protection at lower premium. The most surprising thing is that for just Rs 5 per day you can get life insurance cover up to Rs 5 lakh!
What is this scheme?
LIC Bhagya Lakshmi plan is for women between 18 to 55 years. In this, the minimum sum assured is Rs 1 lakh and the maximum can go up to Rs 5 lakh. You can choose the policy term from 10 to 20 years. The biggest feature is that the premium is kept extremely low – a cover of Rs 5 lakh for just Rs 5 per day (or Rs 1,825 annually)!
Who can take this policy?
- Age: 18 to 55 years

- Housewife, working woman, student – anyone can take it
- Premium Payment: Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly or Yearly
What are the benefits?
