NEW DELHI: Stooping to new lows every day is nothing new for Pakistan cricketers, with opener Sahibzada Farhan once again grabbing the limelight for his on-field conduct rather than his performance with the bat.

The incident occurred during the third T20I between Pakistan and South Africa at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, when fans were making obscene remarks about Jasprit Bumrah. Farhan was seen smiling and clapping along, seemingly enjoying the moment.

Farhan and Bumrah’s on-field rivalry first grabbed attention during the Asia Cup, where the Pakistani opener became the only batter to hit the Indian pacer for three sixes in a T20I. He also etched his name in the record books as the first Pakistani player to clear the ropes off Bumrah’s bowling in international cricket.

Pakistan clinched the three-match T20I series 2-1 against South Africa with a four-wicket win in the decider at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Spearheaded by Shaheen Shah Afridi’s fiery spell and Babar Azam’s timely half-century, the hosts successfully chased down South Africa’s 139/9 with an over to spare.

Afridi delivered a sensational opening burst, finishing with figures of 3 for 26, which included back-to-back dismissals of Quinton de Kock and Luhan-dre Pretorius for ducks in the very first over. His early breakthroughs set the tone for Pakistan’s dominance.

In front of a packed crowd of 32,000, captain Babar Azam rediscovered his form, crafting a fluent 68 off 47 balls – his 37th T20I fifty and first in 14 innings – studded with nine boundaries.

After early setbacks that saw Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan depart inside seven overs, Babar joined forces with Salman Agha to steady the chase. The duo added 76 runs for the third wicket, steering Pakistan towards a comfortable series-clinching victory.
