A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Khodiyar Ashram of Shobhavdala village, about 50 kilometers from Junagadh, Gujarat. A 15-year-old minor brutally murdered his elder brother and pregnant sister-in-law. Not only this, before murdering him he raped his sister-in-law and kicked her in the stomach so hard that she suffered a miscarriage at 6 months. This dreadful incident took place on 16th October, but it came to light on 31st October. The accused buried the naked bodies of both of them in the house and removed the blood stains by burning their clothes. Surprisingly, his mother also supported him in burying the body.
Brother attacked with iron rod, sister-in-law strangled
According to the police, the accused has confessed to his crime. Investigation revealed that he was addicted to alcohol, due to which there were frequent fights in the house. The elder brother repeatedly advised him to give up drugs, due to which the minor started hating him. The brother also kept his earnings, due to which he conspired to commit murder. On the morning of October 16, when the brother was sleeping, the accused attacked him severely with an iron rod on his head. After brother’s death he went to sister-in-law. Hearing her husband screaming, sister-in-law, Kanchan Kumari (19), reached the room and saw her husband lying in a pool of blood. He pleaded to save his life, but the accused did not listen to him.
Rape followed by brutal murder, mother destroyed evidence
The accused raped the sister-in-law and then strangled her by placing his knee on her stomach. Due to the attack, a 6-month-old fetus came out of the sister-in-law’s womb. Subsequently, he dug a 5-feet deep pit in the house and buried the bodies of brother Shivamagiri (22) and sister-in-law. The clothes were set on fire and the blood stains were cleaned. Police say that call detail records revealed that the mother of the accused was not present at the time of the incident, but she later helped her son in destroying the evidence. Police believe that it was difficult for a minor alone to dig such a deep pit and bury the body.
Family’s Bihar connection, mother lived a life like a Sadhvi
The family of the accused is originally from Bihar and lived in Khodiyar Ashram of Shobhavdala village for the last 28 years. The accused’s father had died in the Corona epidemic. After father’s death, mother, Vibhaben, was living life like a sadhvi. Shivamagiri worked as an electrician, while the minor looked after the ashram and tended the cows in the cow shed.
How was the secret revealed after 16 days?
The parents of the deceased woman were trying to contact their daughter. When he could not talk to his daughter and son-in-law during Diwali, he became suspicious. They called the accused, but he avoided the conversation by making excuses every time. Later his mother claimed that her son and daughter-in-law died in a road accident near Himmatnagar. When parents asked for photographs or documents of the accident, the answer was deferred. As suspicion deepened, he reached Gujarat from Khagaria in Bihar and started investigation. Police said that no such accident was recorded in Himmatnagar. Finally, on October 31, the police reached the ashram and recovered all three bodies (husband, wife and newborn) in a decomposed condition from behind the house.
Police arrested the minor
The police have arrested the minor accused. His mother is also being interrogated. This incident has become a topic of discussion not only in Junagadh but in entire Gujarat. People are shocked that how can a boy of such a young age commit such a heinous crime.
