INDW vs SAW Playing 11: Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will square off against Laura Wolvaardt-led South Africa in the finals of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 on November 02 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
South Africa secured a stunning 3-wicket victory against India in the group stage games of the tournament and will be on a positive note when they meet Harman’s side in the big stage of the tournament.
Laura Wolvaardt’s side secured a mammoth 125-run victory in the semi-final games against England, while India secured a 5-wicket victory against Australia in the record-breaking chase in the 2nd semi-final of the tournament.
India’s campaign has been hit with injury concern as opener Pratika Rawal has been ruled out due to an ankle injury; other batters have stepped up in the mammoth run chase against Australia ahead of finals, which is a positive sign for the Women in Blues.
South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Laura Wolvaardt said, “We are going to bowl first. Bit of rain around and there might be dew later on, hoping for a bit of slippinness early on with all the rain around. We are unchanged from the semis. Big game for us and we are really excited for the opportunity to be here and play in front of a big crowd. We are very confident.
Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur said, “We were looking to bowl looking at the overhead conditions. We will try to bat well and put up a decent score. I don’t think there will be much on the pitch after 5-6 overs. We are going with the same team. We had 2 days to recover after the semis and everyone is looking forward to this game.
